Shiatsu Training Program Policies

The Basic Shiatsu Training Program maintains these policies for the benefit of all students who partcipate in the program.

Attendance

There is one excused absence for this 108 hour course with a recommended make-up tutorial.  A second absence can occur with a mandatory make-up tutorial.

Mandatory Practice Classes

These two-day practice classes occur on the Tuesday & Thursday evening following each technique class, and are provided to support each student with their assimilation of material.

There is one allowable absence, and two maximum absences allowable for each level with tutorial.

Homework

There is a required “Treatment Note” journal to document each shiatsu practice session, after the completion of the Foundations of Shiatsu coursework.

Participation

The classroom decorum for shiatsu is traditionally dojo-style — which means being on time with clean shoe-less feet, loose, comfortable clothing, and preparedness to move and learn with a sense of calm respect for the classroom community.  No food is allowed in the classroom.

Self-grading

The course has a Pass/Fail self-grading system. In order to pass this course, each therapist must give a Final Assessment Shiatsu-Do session on the instructor, Yoshi.

Hygiene

For every class or practice session of Shiatsu-Do, please arrive in a healthy condition, with clothing you have chosen just for shiatsu practice, trimmed finger and toenails, clean body, breath, and hair that is neatly tied back.  Also, do your best to refrain from strong smelling detergents and body care products, including body fragrances.

All requests for refunds or cancellations must be sent with a reason, in writing to Zen Tribe Wellness, 1320 E. Linden St., Tucson, AZ  85719 or e-mailed to teabird@mindspring.com  A $20 processing fee will be deducted from the deposit.
